I have only ever had one issue with this practice and that was due to a misunderstanding when I first joined. It was resolved in an appropriate manner and by talking to the Reception manager. The reception staff are constantly on the phone or speaking to patients directly face to face and are the first port of call for the surgery. They have been really helpful to me and I know that they get a lot of grief. There is a Menopause clinic, which I think is totally amazing - being female and working in healthcare myself, knowing how hard it is for women to access Menopause services, is a nightmare. The fact that this GP surgery has one, is a massive plus. During the Pandemic, they have still been open and busy seeing patients throughout. GP surgeries have been getting a serious bashing, so I just wanted to say a BIG thank you, to the surgery, and their staff, for continuing to be such a good practice and offer such great services.

Suggested improvements
The only things I would recommend is maybe having more reception staff, especially when dealing with the number of phone calls your surgery gets, as well as patients in through the front door. The e-consult system is dire and not an easy thing to navigate in order to get an appointment or to speak to someone. Sending emails was a much better way for patients to contact the surgery, yet obviously not for the surgery. Please find something that is in between and not so difficult to navigate through/repetitive.

This is a really lovely place in the community. When 15 years ago I was upset about the way I was handled there was good follow up but I think now the communication and ethos is always amazing.

Suggested improvements
Put non binary not just male and female on this form. But as far as the practice itself is concerned congratulations on getting good architecture as an indicator for your good care.

I find it hard to imagine a practice better run than this one. I have been a patient for 30 years and have always experienced excellent clinical judgement, empathy and friendliness. It is true that you may have to wait for non urgent appointments but on the occasions where there is been a real concern, we have been seen very promptly. It is such a privilege to be able to really trust your doctor and rely on their advice.

Three week wait for a phone consultation despite being in significant pain. Receptionist named Rebecca is rude & unhelpful. Told I could not book an appointment over the phone at 10AM, had to either complete a eConsult form (a IT system not fit for purpose) or call at 8:00. No longer accept emails from patients and rather than forwarding to GP as requested, they write back to say they don't accept email. This used to be an excellent surgery, but it has declined significantly and was poor even before COVID-19.

Suggested improvements
Have a care for patients. Improve access to appointments. Get rid of eConsult which is awful and usually just ends up telling you to call 111 or call the surgery even though the surgery said use eConsult. Accept emails from patients again instead of forcing everything through dire bottleneck of surly & unpleasant reception staff.

I was at the surgery this morning the the flu vaccine. Massively impressed by the organisation, attitude, careful planning, attention to detail including side effects. This is a major logistics operation with, I imagine, everyone involved. Thank you all (especially the person on the door who v kindly asked a bunch of us if we were over 65 - always a treat).

If the poor weather continues you may need a canopy outside !
